One of the shortcomings of DA is that it shows new messages in isolation, without even a link to the previous message. I've lost track of what we were talking about, have no idea what "kinda my talisman" means, and can't track it back to find out!

In this respect, FurAffinity is far better. Clicking on new messages takes you to the file page where all the messages are, so you can follow the thread of every conversation. Whoever wrote the software for DA also probably wears two left shoes.

1986? That seems like only last week. I have a jar of relish in my refrigerator I think might be older than that.

The oldest coin in my collection is one from Miletas (on the Turkish coast) that might be from 500 BC. The catalogs usually list it at that, but the dealer that sold it to me thinks the design is a little too "modern" for that, and thinks 450 BC is more likely. It's only a tiny thing. I wanted it because getting anything much closer to the *first* coins (about 200 years earlier), was likely to be much more expensive.

I have a five cent piece we call a nickel that's the same year as my birth, 1951. It's also the 200th. anniversary of the discovery of the metal nickel, from which the coin is struck.
